Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a litigation associate to join its Commercial Litigation team in Seattle. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 8 years of general commercial litigation experience, supporting a diverse range of matters, including real estate, banking, insurance, and construction disputes.

Location:

  • Seattle, WA

Duties:

  • Assist with all aspects of litigation, including initial case evaluations and budgeting.
  • Manage communications with clients, opposing parties, and affiliated parties.
  • Develop case strategies and manage case schedules.
  • Handle all aspects of discovery, including e-discovery and depositions.
  • Manage motion practice throughout various stages of proceedings.
  • Conduct hearings in federal and state courts and at arbitration.
  • Facilitate settlement conferences and mediations, including strategy preparation for position statements.
  • Prepare for and handle arbitrations and trials or aspects thereof.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice in Washington or eligible for reciprocity.
  • 4 to 8 years of general commercial litigation experience.
  • Prior federal clerkship experience is preferred.
  • Ability to manage cases with minimal oversight.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Excellent research, writing, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • License to practice in Washington (or eligibility for reciprocity).

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in construction litigation is a plus.
  • Licensure in Oregon and/or California is ideal, but not required.
