Duties

  • Represent clients in all aspects of family law, including court hearings, mediation, and negotiations

  • Manage and oversee an independent caseload while collaborating with senior attorneys

  • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and discovery requests

  • Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw

  • Participate in discovery, including depositions and document production

  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, offering updates and legal guidance

  • Develop case strategies and pursue favorable outcomes through negotiation or litigation

  • Uphold confidentiality and adhere to ethical legal standards

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey (or awaiting bar results)

  • Previous experience in family law is preferred but not required

  • Willingness to appear in person for court and client matters as needed

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong commitment to long-term career development within a law firm setting

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in New Jersey (or pending bar admission)
