Family Law Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A well-established New Jersey-based family law firm is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney to join its team. This position offers a hybrid remote setup and provides the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, equitable distribution, and alimony. The firm welcomes both experienced attorneys and recent law school graduates, including those completing clerkships or with legal experience in other practice areas. Duties

• Represent clients in all aspects of family law, including court hearings, mediation, and negotiations

• Manage and oversee an independent caseload while collaborating with senior attorneys

• Draft, review, and file legal documents such as motions, pleadings, settlement agreements, and discovery requests

• Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw

• Participate in discovery, including depositions and document production

• Maintain consistent communication with clients, offering updates and legal guidance

• Develop case strategies and pursue favorable outcomes through negotiation or litigation

• Uphold confidentiality and adhere to ethical legal standards

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey (or awaiting bar results)

• Previous experience in family law is preferred but not required

• Willingness to appear in person for court and client matters as needed

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong commitment to long-term career development within a law firm setting

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in New Jersey (or pending bar admission)
