Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Long-Term Care/Health Care team. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic group of professionals handling a wide array of regulatory and risk-management issues in the long-term care and health care sectors, including licensing, certification, compliance, and more. The firm offers a hybrid remote opportunity and is open to applicants for multiple office locations across New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Prior experience in health law is preferred but not required. The firm is committed to supporting and developing associates with strong potential and a passion for health care law.

Location:

  • Syracuse, NY

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on long-term care and health law issues, including licensing, survey and certification, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid compliance, and certificate of need (CON) issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong, lasting client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service.
  • Actively participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development initiatives to help expand the health care practice.
  • Stay current on evolving health care laws and regulations and contribute to the firm’s thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to provide comprehensive legal support to clients.
  • Meet the firm's billable hours requirement of 1800 hours annually.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in corporate or litigation law; health care experience preferred, but not required.
  • Admission to the New York, Connecticut, or Massachusetts Bar required; ability to waive into other jurisdictions is a plus.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in good standing of the Bar.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Ability to quickly absorb, process, and understand new information.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, conscientiousness, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and personalities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing of the New York, Connecticut, or Massachusetts Bar (or ability to waive into other jurisdictions).
