A law firm in Westfield, NJ is seeking a skilled Matrimonial and Family Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in family law matters and a New Jersey Bar License. This role requires excellent organizational and writing skills, as well as experience in trial or motion hearings. The attorney will handle various family law cases, providing comprehensive legal support and representation to clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in matrimonial and family law cases, including divorce, alimony, child support, custody, and domestic violence.
  • Handle post-judgment matters, non-dissolution cases, and other family law-related issues.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials and motion hearings.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage case-related communications with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on family law matters and court procedures.
  • Maintain detailed case files and ensure timely and accurate documentation.
  • Stay current with changes in family law and related regulations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active New Jersey Bar License.
  • At least 3+ years of experience handling family law matters, including divorce, alimony, child support, custody, post-judgment, non-dissolution, and domestic violence.
  • Proven trial or motion hearing experience.
  • Excellent organizational and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active New Jersey Bar License.
