Job Overview:
An established law firm is seeking a dedicated Immigration Attorney to join its team in Miami, FL. The position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth, with responsibilities involving a variety of immigration cases, including removal defense, family-based immigration petitions, and consular processing. The ideal candidate will be skilled in case management and legal analysis, and will have the opportunity to work with a supportive team of attorneys and legal assistants.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload, including client interactions and ensuring timely case progress.
  • Conduct intake meetings with detained individuals at centers.
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based immigration petitions, and waiver applications.
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments for completeness and accuracy.
  • Work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to stay informed of changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and determine necessary legal strategies.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify possible case benefits and prepare legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Proven ability to handle a caseload and manage client relationships effectively.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian applications, EOIR cases, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar or eligibility to practice in Florida.

  • Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong research and legal analysis skills.
  • Ability to work with clients and colleagues to develop legal strategies and solutions.
