Duties

  • Advise clients on immigration laws and strategies for their cases.
  • Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in immigration court proceedings.
  • Prepare and submit legal applications related to removal defense and family-based immigration.
  • Conduct intake assessments for detained individuals at immigration detention centers.
  • Review and refine immigration application packets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide training and updates to law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations regarding immigration law developments.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS interviews.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-4 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with a legal team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach.
  • Experience handling family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, EOIR cases, detained cases, and citizenship applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with a State Bar Association.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in CA.
