Job Overview:

The role focuses on technology-related transactions, IP protection, and data privacy matters, with a special emphasis on product development, licensing, and regulatory compliance. Duties:

  • Advise clients on technology transactions, including the acquisition, use, and commercialization of IP assets.
  • Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, such as those related to product development, licensing, manufacturing, and supply chain agreements.
  • Handle agreements across multiple industries, including B2B, consumer products, software, hardware, and SaaS.
  • Assist clients with IP protection strategies, including ensuring compliance with relevant regulations such as data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity laws.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and contribute to office culture by working effectively within teams.
  • Guide clients on the commercialization of new technologies and products.

Requirements:

  • At least 1-4 years of transactional experience in the technology or IP sectors.
  • Strong background in commercial contracts, with a focus on licensing, development agreements, and product-related transactions.
  • Experience in advising on regulatory compliance, particularly in the areas of data protection and privacy.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Top academic performance preferred (Top 15% of the class).

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Washington.
  • Admission to practice in other jurisdictions is a plus.

Skills:

  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly in the tech and IP sectors.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection frameworks.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues related to IP, technology transactions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex legal and business landscapes.
  • Self-starter with a strong interest in the intersection of technology, law, and business.
