Job Overview:

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney for its Indianapolis, IN office. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in employment litigation, including supervising other attorneys, drafting and arguing summary judgment motions, and some trial experience. This position offers a dynamic role with no client development or business generation responsibilities. The candidate must be licensed to practice law in Indiana, with additional licensure in Kentucky and Ohio being a plus. The role emphasizes teamwork, excellent research and writing skills, and a strong academic background.

Location:

  • Indianapolis, IN

Duties:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to other attorneys on employment litigation matters.
  • Draft and argue summary judgment motions in employment-related cases.
  • Participate in trial work when necessary.
  • Work closely with other team members to manage and strategize on complex employment litigation cases.
  • Conduct legal research and provide advice on labor and employment matters.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure clients' needs are met effectively.
  • Maintain an organized case management system and ensure timely responses to clients and the court.

Requirements:

  • Over 10 years of experience in employment litigation.
  • Experience in supervising attorneys in employment litigation matters.
  • Significant experience drafting and arguing summary judgment motions.
  • Some trial experience is preferred.
  • Licensed to practice law in Indiana; licensure in Kentucky and Ohio is a plus.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate as part of a team.
  • Preferred strong academic record.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Indiana State Bar membership (required).
  • Kentucky and Ohio Bar membership (preferred).

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law and litigation.
  • Proven ability to supervise and mentor junior attorneys.
  • Strong drafting and litigation skills, including summary judgment motions.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills.
