Job Overview:

A law firm in Sacramento, CA, seeks a highly experienced Traditional Labor Of Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will handle various labor and employment matters, including unfair labor practice charges, collective bargaining agreements, and wage and hour issues. This role requires a deep understanding of federal and California labor laws and experience in litigation and providing legal advice to employers.

Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
• Conduct legal research and writing
• Represent management in NLRB elections
• Provide legal advice to employers regarding union organizing, corporate campaigns, card checks, and neutrality agreements
• Negotiate and provide legal advice regarding collective bargaining agreements
• Manage grievance, arbitration, and unfair labor practice proceedings
• Obtain mass picketing injunctions
• Advise employers on federal and California wage and hour issues, leave management, disability accommodation issues, and other workplace concerns
• Review employee handbooks, policies, and forms for compliance with federal and state laws
• Review compensation, commission, and bonus plans
• Conduct management training on labor relations, federal and California workplace issues, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Minimum of 9 years of litigation or advice work as an attorney
• Traditional labor experience preferred
• Experience with federal and California advice and counsel work preferred
• Active admission to the California Bar
• Understanding of current state and federal agency enforcement techniques preferred
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
