Job Overview

A prestigious law firm with a nationally recognized private investment funds practice is seeking a highly motivated Venture Capital Fund Formation Associate. This role is ideal for attorneys with 4–7 years of experience in private fund formation, particularly those with meaningful exposure to venture capital and growth equity funds. The ideal candidate will support fund-side work and regulatory matters for a range of clients, from emerging managers to large asset managers within the innovation and tech-driven ecosystem.

Duties

• Represent venture capital and growth equity fund managers in all aspects of fund formation and investment management.

• Provide legal counsel on the full spectrum of fund-related regulatory and compliance matters.

• Support fund managers in capital raising and deployment strategies.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team advising clients in the innovation ecosystem.

• Manage and lead fund-side matters, ensuring best practices in legal execution.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in private fund formation and investment management.

• Demonstrated experience with venture capital and growth equity fund representation.

• Active bar membership in the jurisdiction of practice.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

• Strong academic credentials required.

Certifications

• Must be admitted to the State Bar in the relevant jurisdiction.

• In good standing and eligible to practice law.
