Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a junior to mid-level transactional attorney for its Capital Markets practice group in the Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate will have a background in commercial mortgage-backed securitization, including experience in origination, securitization, syndication, and/or participation in commercial mortgage loans and mezzanine loans. Location:

  • Charlotte, NC

Duties:

  • Participate in the origination, securitization, syndication, and/or participation of commercial mortgage loans and mezzanine loans.
  • Perform due diligence and review of real estate related securities.
  • Draft and negotiate transaction documents and agreements.
  • Provide legal advice and strategic input on securities transactions.
  • Manage multiple aspects of transactions, including client communication, legal research, and document preparation.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and clients to ensure successful execution of complex deals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial mortgage-backed securitization or related areas.
  • Strong background in real estate finance and securities law.
  • Proven experience with origination, securitization, syndication, or participation of commercial mortgage loans and mezzanine loans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle complex transactions and manage competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice in relevant state bar (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

  • Strong transactional and legal research skills.
  • Expertise in commercial mortgage-backed securitization and real estate finance.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating transaction documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
