A law firm seeks an experienced attorney based in North Carolina to join its team. The ideal candidate will be actively licensed and possess at least 3 years of substantive legal experience, with additional licensure in one or more of the following states: Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, or West Virginia. This role is designed for an energetic, independent, and collaborative professional demonstrating creativity and determination in their legal practice.

Duties:

  • Manage cases independently from initial filing to resolution.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies aimed at securing favorable outcomes based on comprehensive case assessments and ongoing investigations.
  • Communicate substantively with courts, administrative offices, financial institutions, and clients.
  • Draft various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, and security instruments.
  • Attend and represent clients at hearings and trials.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina, with additional licenses in the specified states preferred.
  • Prior experience in one or more of these areas is preferred: Medicaid eligibility and reimbursement, administrative appeals, civil litigation, probate and estate claims, and guardianships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Current membership in the North Carolina State Bar, with additional licensure preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team.
  • High levels of energy, discipline, and self-motivation conducive to a home office environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Persistent and resourceful with proactive problem-solving capabilities.
  • Confidence to take initiative and maintain accountability for all case outcomes.
  • Proficiency with technology, including familiarity with Mac systems, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and timekeeping software.
