A law firm in Annapolis, MD, seeks a motivated Associate Attorney with experience in estate planning to provide comprehensive legal support, manage client matters, and contribute to the firm's estate planning practice.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to Principals and Supervising Attorney in estate planning matters.
  • Meet with clients to discuss estate planning goals and provide counsel on various techniques and instruments.
  • Draft and execute estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Conduct legal and tax research related to estate planning strategies and issues.
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations to tailor estate plans to individual client needs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, explaining complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Direct paralegals and legal assistants in supporting client matters and administrative tasks.
  • Assist Principals, attorneys, and paralegals with special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted and active member in good standing of the Maryland Bar.
  • 1-3 or more years of legal experience, preferably in estate planning/administration within a law firm, trust department, or similar environment.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, and database management software.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
