Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking a mid-level to senior associate or counsel to join its Real Estate practice in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint ventures. This role involves representing institutional equity investors and private equity real estate funds throughout the investment cycle and in complex lending transactions. Superior academic credentials and strong communication skills are essential for this role.

Location:

  • Washington, D.C.

Duties:

  • Support a high-volume commercial real estate practice.
  • Represent institutional equity investors and private equity real estate funds in various stages of the investment cycle.
  • Handle a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including:
    • Acquisitions and dispositions.
    • Financing and refinancing of commercial real estate.
    • Joint venture transactions.
  • Provide legal counsel in sophisticated lending transactions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial real estate law.
  • Significant experience in handling acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint ventures.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission in the District of Columbia or eligibility to waive in.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle complex real estate transactions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client management and working within a team.
  • Superior academic background.
