Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial consultations with potential clients, assess their needs, and secure their representation.
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, domestic violence, spousal support, and property division.
  • Act as lead counsel (1st chair) in court proceedings, mediations, and depositions.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, agreements, and court orders.
  • Develop case strategies that align with client goals and advocate for their best interests.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements in contested and uncontested family law cases.
  • Mentor and train junior attorneys and staff, fostering professional development and team growth.
  • Stay current with changes in Colorado family law statutes and apply them effectively to case management.
  • Maintain regular and compassionate communication with clients to provide updates and guidance throughout their cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Colorado State Bar.
  • 0-3 years of experience in family law, with a focus on divorce, child custody, and domestic violence cases.
  • Expertise in Colorado Family Law statutes (preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong courtroom presence with experience leading cases as the 1st chair.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with clients facing emotionally charged situations.
  • Superior legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
