Job Overview:

A law firm in Bellevue, WA, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Advertising, Marketing, and Promotions Associate Attorney to join its team. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive advertising law, consumer protection, and marketing transactions expertise. The ideal candidate will excel in drafting and negotiating various marketing agreements, reviewing ad content for compliance, and providing strategic legal counsel on complex marketing and advertising issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Draft, negotiate, and review advertising agency, influencer, celebrity endorsement, sponsorship, online media buying, and other marketing and promotion agreements.
• Review advertising copy for compliance with false advertising laws, claim substantiation, intellectual property issues, and right of publicity concerns.
• Provide legal counsel on contest and sweepstakes compliance, including regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Advise clients on price advertising, recurring subscriptions, and loyalty/rewards programs.
• Represent clients in disputes about false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division matters.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure adherence to legal standards and optimize marketing strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and advertising and marketing law precedents.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in advertising, marketing, and promotions law.
• Substantive experience drafting and negotiating marketing agreements, reviewing ad copy, and providing regulatory compliance advice.
• Familiarity with false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division dispute resolution.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent academic credentials, with outstanding legal writing and communication skills.
• Experience working in a large or medium-sized law firm is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Washington.
