A law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Civil Litigation/Bankruptcy Attorney to join its team in Miami, FL. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the firm’s litigation team, handling a variety of cases with a focus on commercial litigation and bankruptcy law. This full-time position offers a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility for the right candidate. The ideal attorney will have strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, along with a proven track record in litigation and trial work.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and appeals, with attention to detail and legal accuracy.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Provide sound legal advice and guidance to clients, ensuring they are informed throughout the legal process.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, ensuring all necessary preparations are made for successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure efficient case management and resolution.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Florida.
  • At least 3 years of experience in civil litigation, with specific experience in trial work and bankruptcy cases.
  • Strong legal research and writing abilities, with experience drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills, with the ability to represent clients in court effectively.
  • Familiarity with legal administrative tasks and processes.
  • A proactive, client-focused attitude with the ability to handle complex cases independently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing, including using platforms like Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Strong oral advocacy and courtroom skills.
  • Ability to manage litigation cases from start to finish, including trial preparation and client interaction.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
