Personal Injury Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a dedicated Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join their team in Columbia, South Carolina. In this full-time position, you will represent clients in personal injury and property damage cases, ensuring their needs are met with care and attention. The role involves managing cases through all stages of litigation, from initial client meetings to trial, while maintaining strong communication with both clients and insurance companies.

Duties

• Consult with clients to understand their cases, provide legal guidance, and establish trust.
• Manage personal injury and property damage claims, preparing them for trial when necessary.
• Keep clients informed about case developments, including settlements, demands, and offers.
• Engage in discussions with insurance companies to negotiate settlements and resolve disputes.
• Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery, in preparation for trial.
• Represent clients in court, advocating for their best interests during hearings and trials.
• Maintain meticulous records of case progress, ensuring all details are up-to-date.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 6 years of litigation experience, with demonstrated first-chair trial experience.
• Active membership in good standing with the South Carolina Bar.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
• Proven experience in evaluating personal injury and property damage claims.
• Strong negotiation skills, capable of effectively handling settlements and insurance disputes.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A proactive, problem-solving attitude with the ability to work independently.
• A team-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the South Carolina Bar in good standing.
