Duties:

  • Represent clients in complex media-related legal matters, including content liability, copyright, trademark, right of publicity, defamation, and privacy.
  • Handle cases related to digital and emerging media technologies.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and develop litigation strategies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements pertinent to media law.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare detailed legal documents and briefs.
  • Participate in client meetings, settlement negotiations, and court proceedings.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in media law and digital media trends.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to deliver high-quality legal services.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a law firm or a combination of clerkship and AmLaw 200 law firm experience.
  • Experience in media law, including copyright, trademark, right of publicity, defamation, or privacy.
  • Commercial litigation experience for digital media clients is a plus.
  • Independent knowledge of and interest in media law practice.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member of the California or Washington State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills for client interactions and courtroom presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
