A law firm in Dallas, TX is seeking an Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney to join our team. The candidate will work under the guidance of the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney, managing a caseload, advising clients, and collaborating with our Criminal Defense Team.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of criminal defense matters, including drafting legal documents and advising clients on their legal rights.
  • Attend pretrial hearings, manage court appearances, and conduct trials.
  • Draft motions, interview witnesses, and perform legal research to support case strategies.
  • Analyze potential case outcomes based on legal precedents and facts.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients regarding case benefits and strategies.
  • Gather additional evidence and prepare arguments against prosecution charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and collaborate with experts to support client positions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas and in good standing.
  • Interest in gaining experience in Criminal Defense.
  • Preferred interest or experience handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and colleagues.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of legal research methods and case preparation.
