Job Overview

A prominent law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Institutional Response Group. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a nationally recognized practice focused on Title IX and civil rights. The attorney will assist in investigations, policy development, and compliance efforts addressing a wide range of institutional concerns. Travel may be required based on client needs.

Duties

  • Conduct investigations related to:
    • Title IX, Title VI, and Title VII compliance.
    • Civil rights or criminal laws addressing sexual and gender-based harassment and violence.
    • Protected class discrimination or harassment.
    • Child or elder abuse allegations.
  • Collaborate with institutions or government agencies to implement trauma-informed, equitable, and unbiased prevention and resolution processes.
  • Develop and revise written policies, procedures, and educational materials.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with Title IX, the Clery Act, child protection frameworks, and related requirements.
  • Advise clients on safety, security, and institutional governance issues.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Investigations under civil rights laws or criminal frameworks.
    • Regulatory compliance with Title IX and related laws.
    • Creating and implementing trauma-informed and equitable procedures.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Leadership experience and excellent interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Massachusetts (MA).
