Job Overview: A law firm in Bloomfield Hills, MI, seeks a member-level attorney to join its healthcare practice. The ideal candidate will have substantial regulatory experience and a demonstrated commitment to contributing to a national team. The role requires providing expert legal counsel to healthcare providers on various regulatory matters and transactional issues.

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel to healthcare providers on regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse, licensing, reimbursement, and transactional matters.
  • Draft and negotiate healthcare-related agreements, including professional service agreements, joint ventures, and business associate agreements.
  • Participate actively in healthcare mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deal teams, assisting with due diligence, regulatory reviews, and transaction document drafting.
  • Develop and implement corporate compliance programs and HIPAA compliance strategies for healthcare providers.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis and provide strategic advice to clients on complex legal issues in healthcare law.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and other dispute resolution proceedings.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar in Michigan and in good standing.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in healthcare law, focusing on regulatory compliance and transactional matters.
  • Proven track record of handling complex legal issues independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other relevant laws.

Preferred Skills and Certifications:

  • Experience with healthcare M&A transactions and due diligence processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage client relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
