A law firm in Mountain View, CA is seeking an IP Technology Transactions (Life Sciences) Associate Attorney to join their growing life sciences technology transactions practice. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience representing biotechs and big pharmas in licensing patents, collaborating on novel therapeutics, vaccines, diagnostic, and digital health technologies, and navigating through clinical trials toward FDA regulatory approval. This role involves negotiating complex standalone commercial transactions that significantly impact both the technologies and the participating entities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of IP and technology-related agreements, including licensing agreements, collaboration agreements, research and development agreements, and commercialization agreements.
  • Counsel clients on intellectual property issues in the life sciences sector, including patent licensing, technology transfer, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct due diligence and provide strategic advice to clients on IP and technology matters related to mergers, acquisitions, and investments.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and internal stakeholders to develop innovative solutions and strategies that advance technological developments in the life sciences industry.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory developments, and case law affecting IP and technology transactions in the life sciences sector.

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the state of California or eligibility to sit/waive into the next Bar exam.
  • 3-6 years of experience in licensing, collaboration, and commercial partnering transactions within the life sciences industry at a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property law, particularly as it pertains to patents and technology transactions.
  • Superior academic credentials and excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
