Job Overview
A highly respected global law firm is seeking a Senior Projects Development Lawyer with 7+ years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy, energy transition, or oil & gas sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, innovative projects while collaborating with leading developers, investors, and energy companies. The successful candidate will be involved in high-profile transactions and have exposure to cutting-edge energy technologies.

Location

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate key project documents, including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) agreements, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
  • Advise clients on risk allocation, insurance, and financing structures in energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to developers, investors, and energy companies on renewable energy and energy transition technologies.
  • Manage and support large-scale infrastructure projects in energy, renewable energy, storage, hydrogen, and carbon capture sectors.
  • Collaborate with industry leaders to advise on complex project development and regulatory matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in projects, construction, and development law.
  • Strong in-house experience with an energy company, developer, or infrastructure firm is preferred.
  • Expertise in risk allocation, financing, and insurance for energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy, energy transition, and oil & gas sectors.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic, commercial legal and business advice.
  • Strong academic credentials and legal expertise.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in relevant state(s).

Skills

  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating project-related contracts and agreements.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy and infrastructure project development.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze and manage complex legal and business challenges.
  • Collaborative and client-focused approach to legal work.
