A law firm in Houston is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Litigation Associate Attorney to work primarily on disputes in Texas and throughout the United States, including cases involving commercial, toxic tort, securities, energy, and employment disputes, among others. This role will provide the associate with the opportunity to take a significant role in complex litigation matters. The ideal candidate should have comfort interacting directly with partners and clients, with strong research and writing skills, excellent academic credentials, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to excellence. Judicial clerkship experience is a plus. Applicants must be currently licensed to practice law in Texas, with 2-4 years of post-law school experience, preferably from a large law firm and/or judicial clerkship.

 

Duties:

  • Work on a variety of litigation matters, including commercial, toxic tort, securities, energy, and employment disputes.
  • Take a significant role in complex litigation matters, including case analysis, legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, and attending court hearings.
  • Interact directly with partners and clients to provide legal advice and support.
  • Conduct due diligence and analyze legal issues related to ongoing litigation matters.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas in good standing.
  • 2-4 years of post-law school experience, preferably from a large law firm and/or judicial clerkship.
  • Comfort interacting directly with partners and clients.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellence.
