Job Overview: A law firm specializing in real estate law seeks a motivated Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their team in Baltimore, MD. The ideal candidate will provide legal counsel and support across various aspects of real estate transactions and litigation, focusing on construction contracting and development.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements across diverse industry sectors.
  • Negotiate EPC contracts for large-scale infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on claims management, change orders, extra work claims, delays, and construction defect claims.
  • Support litigation and arbitration efforts, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and preparation for depositions, mediations, and hearings/trials.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, colleagues, and external parties verbally and in writing.
  • Produce high-quality work products promptly, meeting firm expectations and deadlines.
  • Foster positive relationships within the firm and with clients, adhering to all policies and practices.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 2 years of experience in construction contracting and related development.
  • Experience in transactional and litigation support for construction and development matters.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard agreements (e.g., AIA forms).
  • Admission to the Maryland Bar is required.
  • Preferred experience in litigation or arbitration.
