Duties:

  • Represent clients in environmental regulatory defense and administrative enforcement matters.
  • Handle legal issues arising under CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and related California statutes.
  • Provide transactional counseling and advice on environmental matters.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients in court proceedings and administrative hearings.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, clients, and experts to build effective case strategies.
  • Stay updated on environmental laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate legal advice.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and guide on complex legal issues.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in environmental litigation and regulatory defense.
  • Proven experience with CERCLA, RCRA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and related California statutes.
  • Experience with transactional counseling is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong energy and enthusiasm for the practice of environmental law.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
