The position involves managing a varied caseload of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and wrongful death, with a focus on trial preparation and litigation in the Maryland, D.C., and Virginia regions. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in personal injury law, excellent litigation skills, and a passion for providing exceptional legal services to clients.

Key Duties:

  • Case Management: Handle a variety of personal injury litigation matters, including car accidents, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases.
  • Litigation: Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses. Conduct depositions and represent clients in court hearings and trials.
  • Trial Preparation: Collaborate with support staff to develop case strategies, prepare witnesses, and manage evidence for trial.
  • Legal Research and Writing: Perform detailed legal research and draft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
  • Client Interaction: Regularly update clients on case developments, manage expectations, and provide guidance throughout the litigation process.
  • Settlement Negotiations: Lead negotiations to achieve favorable settlement outcomes for clients.
  • Jurisdictional Compliance: Ensure all legal filings and court submissions adhere to the rules and regulations of Maryland, D.C., and Virginia.

Requirements:

  • Licensing: Active license to practice law in Virginia.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in personal injury litigation.
  • Litigation Expertise: Strong background in managing all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation and courtroom experience.
  • Client-Focused: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
