Job Overview

An established law firm located in San Diego, is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join its growing team. The firm specializes in employment law, real estate litigation, personal injury law, and business litigation. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of civil litigation experience, including experience as first or second chair at trial. Duties

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Take and defend depositions in civil cases.
  • Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, mandatory settlement conferences, and administrative hearings.
  • Manage cases through trial, including appearing in court and presenting on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and provide high-quality client service.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in California.
  • At least 3 years of substantive civil litigation experience.
  • Experience as first or second chair at trial is required.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active California Bar License (required).

  • Civil litigation experience, particularly in employment law, real estate, personal injury, or business litigation.
  • Strong drafting and legal writing skills.
  • Effective deposition and trial preparation abilities.
  • High-level client communication and negotiation skills.
