A law firm based in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking an Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic team. This position involves managing a diverse caseload and interacting with clients while collaborating with a dedicated Immigration Team. The role includes representing clients in immigration proceedings, preparing various immigration applications, and working closely with law enforcement and community organizations. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 4 years of immigration law experience and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently and handle client interactions.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file a variety of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as necessary.
  • Present immigration law changes to law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations.
  • Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients and determine appropriate legal strategies.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits and strategies for clients.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 to 4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian relief, EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) matters, detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with case management software preferred.
  • Preferably bilingual in Spanish.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Nevada or eligibility for reciprocal admission.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in preparing diverse immigration applications and legal briefs.
  • Capable of developing and implementing effective legal strategies.
  • Experience working with law enforcement and community organizations is a plus.
