Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an entry-level Immigration Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity for recent law graduates or attorneys with limited experience to build their careers in immigration law. The role involves handling a diverse caseload, providing legal counsel to clients in various stages of immigration proceedings, and working closely with a collaborative legal team. Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to clients on immigration matters, presenting strategic solutions and immigration concepts
• Represent clients in immigration court proceedings, including non-detained and detained individuals
• Manage and maintain a caseload of immigration cases
• Conduct intake visits with detained individuals at detention centers
• Prepare immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense
• Review and adjust immigration application packets as necessary
• Collaborate with law enforcement and community-based organizations regarding immigration law updates
• Meet with potential clients for consultations and develop strategic approaches to their cases
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimonies
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration-related cases

Requirements:

• 0-3 years of experience in immigration law
• Ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward effectively
• Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate and strategize with fellow attorneys
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the state bar (any U.S. jurisdiction)

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the United States

Skills:

• Familiarity with immigration laws, including family-based petitions, humanitarian petitions, and USCIS applications
• Experience with case management software is a plus
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with clients
