Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Monterey, CA, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong background in various aspects of litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling discovery, interviewing witnesses, taking/defending depositions, motion work, court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, class action suits, and trial preparation. The role also entails direct client contact and requires outstanding legal research and writing skills.

Duties:

• Manage and handle various litigation tasks, including discovery, deposition work, motion practice, court appearances, and trial preparation.
• Interview witnesses and gather evidence to support cases.
• Participate in mediations and arbitrations, working to achieve favorable settlements.
• Defend class action suits and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents and pleadings.
• Maintain direct contact with clients and provide legal counsel.

Requirements:

• Legal experience with a strong background in litigation.
• Proficiency in handling discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
• Experience in mediations, arbitrations, class action suits, and trial preparation is a plus.
• Outstanding legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with clients and legal teams.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
