A law firm seeks a highly motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in San Antonio, TX. This position offers a competitive salary with the potential for performance-based commissions, as well as a generous sign-on bonus for qualified applicants. The successful candidate will manage a diverse docket of personal injury cases, engage in various aspects of litigation, and work closely with support staff to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.

Duties:

  • Manage a docket of personal injury cases, including motor vehicle collisions and premises liability claims.
  • Prepare and file legal petitions, motions, and other court documents.
  • Participate in discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions as part of case preparation.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to ensure timely and efficient case management.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior legal staff.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations on behalf of clients when appropriate.
  • Ensure adherence to deadlines and firm policies to maximize case outcomes.
  • Manage client relationships, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
  • Some litigation experience, with a focus on personal injury law preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Proven negotiation and litigation skills.
  • Experience with depositions, motions, and other legal processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Litigation and legal research proficiency.
  • Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage complex legal tasks and maintain organized case files.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
