Associate Attorney Insurance Defense

A law firm seeks an experienced associate attorney to join its insurance defense team in Miami. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience handling litigation cases from inception to trial, particularly in the areas of Admiralty/Maritime law, Insurance Defense, and Workers' Compensation. Duties:

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters, from case initiation through trial.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence for insurance defense, maritime, and workers' compensation cases.
• Conduct discovery, and depositions, and engage in trial preparation.
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and ensure effective representation.
• Provide legal counsel to clients regarding case progress and strategy.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Proven ability to manage a full caseload independently, including trial experience.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience in Admiralty/Maritime law and Workers' Compensation is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Florida, in good standing.

• Proficiency in legal research, drafting litigation documents, and courtroom advocacy.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
