Job Overview:
A well-established personal injury law firm is looking to hire a Pre-Suit Attorney in Dallas, Texas. The Pre-Suit Attorney will be responsible for managing personal injury cases prior to litigation. This includes evaluating and investigating injury claims, negotiating with insurance companies and defense counsel, and working directly with clients to secure favorable settlements. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in personal injury law, strong negotiation skills, and a client-focused approach.

Location:

  • Dallas, Texas

Duties:

  • Review potential personal injury cases and evaluate their merits and potential value
  • Collaborate with pre-litigation case managers to review case documents, such as medical records and police reports
  • Conduct investigations by speaking with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather evidence
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and legal guidance during the pre-litigation phase
  • Negotiate settlements directly with insurance adjusters and opposing parties
  • Draft settlement offers and legal correspondence as part of the negotiation process
  • Monitor and track deadlines, including statutes of limitations, to ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Organize and manage case files, ensuring all information is accurately documented and accessible
  • Stay informed about developments in personal injury law, insurance practices, and industry trends

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury law, with an emphasis on pre-litigation case management
  • Proven experience negotiating settlements with insurance companies and managing claims
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and writing skills
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Empathy and professionalism when interacting with clients, especially in sensitive situations
  • Knowledge of personal injury law, insurance procedures, and relevant legal requirements
  • Experience in high-volume personal injury practice
  • Familiarity with FileVine is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar

Skills:

  • Expertise in pre-litigation personal injury law
  • Strong negotiation and settlement skills
  • Proficient in legal writing and drafting settlement documents
