Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Prosecution & Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic IP Litigation team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in intellectual property litigation, including patent disputes and trial proceedings. The candidate will work on complex cases, manage case developments, and collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to drive successful outcomes in both prosecution and litigation matters.

Duties:

• Manage patent litigation cases from inception through resolution, including briefing, motions practice, and case management.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, expert witness coordination, and PTAB or trial proceedings.
• Supervise junior associates and paralegals on assigned matters, ensuring efficient case progression.
• Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Work directly with clients to develop strategies and provide legal counsel in complex intellectual property matters.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of patent laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure informed case management.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in IP Litigation, specifically in patent prosecution and litigation.
• Strong background in briefing, motions practice, depositions, and working with experts.
• Proven experience in handling PTAB or trial proceedings.
• Ability to manage complex cases and supervise junior team members.
• Engineering degree preferred and admitted to practice before the USPTO.
• Must be licensed to practice in South Carolina or have the ability to become licensed promptly.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to a State Bar (South Carolina preferred).
• USPTO registration preferred.
