Senior Finance Or Debt Capital Market Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a highly experienced and skilled Senior Finance or Debt Capital Market Associate Attorney to join its dynamic New York City, NY team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing and running complex finance transactions, with a focus on lender-side work. This role requires expertise in distressed credit, bespoke finance transactions, liability management, and debt restructuring. The successful candidate will work closely with creditors and private credit lenders, originating new transactions and managing existing capital structures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and run complex finance transactions, primarily on the lender side
• Handle distressed credit, bespoke finance transactions, and stressed/distressed credit situations
• Conduct complex liability management transactions and debt restructuring
• Perform covenant reviews, collateral analysis, and draft inter-creditor and subordination arrangements
• Originate new transactions and manage existing capital structures for both creditors and private credit lenders
• Lead multiple financing or debt capital market high-yield (HY) transactions from inception to close
• Collaborate with mid-level and junior associates, providing guidance and mentorship
• Develop creative solutions to complex financial and legal issues
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Maintain and build strong client relationships

Requirements:

• Several years of experience managing and running complex finance transactions, ideally on the lender side
• Familiarity with distressed credit, bespoke finance transactions, and stressed/distressed credit
• Experience with complex liability management transactions, debt restructuring, covenant reviews, collateral analysis, and inter-creditor/subordination arrangements
• Proven ability to work with both groups of creditors and private credit lenders
• Experience originating new transactions and managing existing capital structures
• Law firm experience is required
• Admission to the New York State Bar

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York State Bar
