General Litigation Associate

A law firm seeks a talented General Litigation Associate to join its team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in litigation and a passion for working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Duties:

• Represent clients in general civil litigation matters across various practice areas
• Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
• Manage case files and track important deadlines
• Participate in case strategy discussions and provide input on legal approaches
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case development
• Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as needed
• Maintain positive client relationships by providing regular updates and guidance
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and colleagues on complex legal matters

Requirements:

• Admission to the Virginia State Bar (required)
• 1-3 years of experience in general litigation
• Admission to the DC Bar is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks efficiently
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Virginia State Bar Admission (required)
• DC Bar Admission (preferred)
