Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A distinguished law firm located in Miami, FL, is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Associate Immigration Attorney to join their legal team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth within the field of immigration law. The candidate will be responsible for managing a varied caseload, interacting with clients, and collaborating with a team of experienced attorneys and legal assistants.

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive explanations of immigration laws and procedures to clients.
  • Represent clients in immigration courts and before the Board of Immigration Appeals, including non-detained and detained individuals.
  • Conduct intake interviews and visits with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and submit a wide range of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and amend immigration application packets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding immigration law changes.
  • Meet with clients to offer strategic immigration consultations and determine case strategy.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients or witnesses for court appearances and testimony before USCIS.
  • Provide thorough legal analyses for clients to assess potential benefits in their cases.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various types of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset, willing to support and work alongside fellow associates.
  • Experience in handling family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR matters, and detained cases, as well as citizenship and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership and good standing in a State Bar Association.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a diverse and complex caseload.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Adept at developing strategic solutions for complex immigration cases.
