Job Overview:

A reputable law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate with 1-3 years of experience to join its Product, Tort & Insurance Litigation Practice Group in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience with trials, mediations, motion practice, depositions, hearings, and drafting pleadings. The role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment with exposure to a variety of litigation matters. Strong research and writing skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team, are essential.

Location:

• Houston, TX

Duties:

• Represent clients in litigation matters, including trials, mediations, depositions, and hearings.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Assist in all aspects of litigation, including case management and strategy development.
• Engage in motion practice and prepare cases for hearings.
• Collaborate with team members to prepare for trial and settlement negotiations.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.
• Maintain effective communication with clients and provide case updates.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in product, tort, or insurance litigation.
• Strong academic record and demonstrated litigation experience.
• Experience with trials, mediations, depositions, motion practice, and hearings.
• Ability to draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Texas (or ability to obtain licensure if not already licensed in Texas).

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Experience with product, tort, or insurance litigation preferred.
• Proficient in drafting litigation documents such as pleadings and motions.
• Ability to manage case files and litigation tasks efficiently.
