Duties:

• Conduct detailed investigations with clients and non-parties to manage critical discovery issues.
• Assess medical causation and engage with medical professionals to evaluate complex claims.
• Identify, retain, and consult with medical experts to strengthen case strategies.
• Lead and defend depositions for parties and non-parties involved in cases.
• Apply CPLR discovery rules to ensure compliance and oversee the discovery process.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and attend ADR/Mediation conferences.
• Represent clients during court appearances and case conferences.
• Develop and implement strategies for the resolution of medical malpractice claims.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of litigation experience, with a preference for experience in medical malpractice or personal injury claims within New York State Supreme Court jurisdiction.
• Strong verbal and written advocacy skills, with a proven track record in motion practice.
• Ability to independently analyze and evaluate complex cases, particularly in the medical malpractice sector.
• Excellent organizational skills and a collaborative approach to litigation.
• Proficiency in managing legal research, case preparation, and compliance with court rules.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to practice law in New York, or actively awaiting admission following successful completion of the New York State Bar Exam.
