Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Associate Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. This position is ideal for an attorney looking to expand their practice in a new geographic region or specialize in a practice area not currently covered by the firm. The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a strong ability to build client relationships, manage case strategies, and contribute to the firm's overall growth.

Duties

  • Client Representation: Advocate for clients within a designated geographic area or practice specialty.

  • Case and Budget Management: Develop legal strategies, project service values, estimate fees and expenses, and maintain budget oversight for client matters.

  • Legal Advocacy: Represent clients in litigation, including court appearances, hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.

  • Document Drafting & Research: Prepare pleadings, contracts, legal briefs, and other necessary legal documents.

  • Negotiation & Dispute Resolution: Work towards favorable resolutions through mediation, negotiation, and, when necessary, litigation.

  • Collaboration with Professionals: Work alongside CPAs, mental health professionals, and industry experts to support case objectives.

  • Business Development: Engage in networking, marketing efforts, and community involvement to expand the firm's litigation and transactional practices.

Requirements

  • Ability to independently manage legal matters while working within a team-oriented firm structure.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.

  • Technologically proficient and comfortable using legal case management and collaboration tools.

  • Ability to travel as needed for court appearances, client meetings, and professional networking.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Ohio Bar (Required).
