Job OverviewA law firm seeks a skilled Foreclosure Defense and Real Estate Attorney to provide comprehensive legal services in foreclosure defense, real estate transactions, and potentially probate matters. The ideal candidate will bring a robust understanding of foreclosure defense strategies, real estate law, and client representation.DutiesForeclosure Defense:Represent clients in judicial and non-judicial foreclosure proceedings.Evaluate loan documents and financial records to identify potential defenses.Negotiate with lenders for loan modifications, forbearances, or settlements.Draft, file, and manage necessary legal documents, motions, and pleadings.Real Estate Law:Provide guidance on real estate transactions, including sales, purchases, leases, and dispute resolution.Draft, review, and negotiate real estate contracts and related agreements.Address title issues, zoning matters, and other property-related legal disputes.Manage closing processes in coordination with real estate agents, title companies, and lenders.Probate Law (Optional):Oversee estate planning tasks, such as wills, trusts, and probate administration.Represent clients in probate court for estate and inheritance-related matters.Advise on real estate transfer during probate.Client Consultation & Communication:Conduct client meetings to assess legal needs and devise case strategies.Clearly explain legal processes, options, and case developments to clients.Maintain open and regular communication to keep clients informed of case progress.Compliance & Case Management:Ensure all practices comply with state and federal regulations, including mortgage servicing and consumer protection laws.Manage case files, filings, and deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff to ensure smooth case management.RequirementsJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active membership with the state bar in Connecticut; additional state bar memberships are beneficial.Minimum of 3 years of experience in foreclosure defense and real estate law.Preferred experience in probate law or estate planning.Strong litigation skills, with a proven record in foreclosure cases.Proficient in negotiation with experience managing complex real estate transactions.Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.Ability to work autonomously and manage a diverse caseload.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.EducationJuris Doctor (J.D.) from a recognized law school.CertificationsValid bar license in Connecticut (additional state bar memberships are advantageous).SkillsExpertise in foreclosure defense and real estate transactions.Knowledge of probate law is highly desirable.Strong commitment to advocating for clients and securing favorable outcomes.Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment.Proficiency in client communication and case strategy development.Added ValueFamiliarity with probate proceedings and estate planning.Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-focused setting.LocationFarmington, Connecticut, with options for remote work.This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by assisting clients through complex foreclosure and real estate matters, and potentially probate cases, within a supportive and collaborative environment.
