Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury defense matters from inception through resolution.
  • Perform in-depth legal research and case analysis, using tools such as LexisNexis or similar platforms.
  • Draft a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and pre-trial filings.
  • Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Conduct and defend depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties.
  • Investigate claims, including interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, claims representatives, paralegals, and other attorneys to develop case strategies.
  • Maintain organized case files and thorough documentation to support seamless case management.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years of litigation experience, preferably with a focus on personal injury defense.
  • Ability to handle all aspects of file management with minimal partner oversight.
  • Trial preparation experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with California civil procedure.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in clear, client-friendly language.
  • Detail-oriented drafting and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of California.

Skills:

  • Legal research proficiency (LexisNexis or equivalent platforms).
  • Strong writing and analytical abilities.
  • Skilled at client relations and providing clear, practical advice.
  • Proactive problem-solving and negotiation skills.
