A law firm is seeking a Senior Construction Law Attorney for their Oakland, CA office. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in construction law and public contracting, focusing on providing legal counsel and drafting construction documents.

Job Overview:

The Senior Construction Law Attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice and drafting construction contracts for various public agencies throughout the State of California. The role requires public works procurement strategies, construction law, and dispute resolution expertise.

Duties:

  • Advise on public works procurement strategies for various public agencies in California.
  • Draft and revise construction contracts, commercial terms, and conditions.
  • Prepare bond forms, invitations to bid, and procurement of professional services.
  • Provide legal counsel on construction-related matters and documentation.
  • Handle dispute resolution in both public and private construction projects.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • An active member of the State Bar of California in good standing.
  • Experience practicing construction law, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of public contracting laws and regulations in California.
  • Strong understanding of construction contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Experience with construction dispute resolution methods.

Certifications:

  • State Bar of California membership in good standing.
