Associate Attorney needed for New York City office

A nationwide consumer debt collection law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1 year of litigation experience to join its team in New York, NY. This role involves handling foreclosure and creditor’s rights cases, with opportunities for career advancement. The position requires a hybrid work arrangement, with in-office attendance two days a week. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in New York and potentially New Jersey, with a focus on managing a large caseload and delivering excellent client service.

Duties:

• Manage multiple files, including drafting complaints, pleadings, and preparing for hearings.
• Attend trials, discovery, hearings, and other court appearances as necessary.
• Provide input to executive management on process improvements.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth case management.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in litigation, preferably with exposure to foreclosure and creditor’s rights.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New York (required).
• Licensed in New Jersey (preferred) or the ability to become licensed in both states.
