A law firm seeks a Project Development & Finance Counsel to join its Washington, D.C. office. This position focuses on providing legal counsel and strategic guidance on engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in negotiating and advising on EPC contracts and agreements, along with a proven ability to deliver outstanding client service within a collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Advise clients on engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts and related agreements.
  • Negotiate and draft EPC contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on project development and financing matters.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to address complex contractual issues.
  • Support clients in risk assessment, mitigation, and dispute resolution processes.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and legal developments affecting EPC projects.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience advising on and negotiating EPC contracts and agreements.
  • Background in project development and finance, with a focus on energy or infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex matters effectively.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, client-focused environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic performance.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in Washington, D.C., or eligibility for bar admission in the jurisdiction.
