Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney for its office in Burlington, VT. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in civil and/or criminal litigation, exceptional attention to detail, strong writing and legal research skills, and a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality legal work. Admission to practice in Vermont is required, and admission in New Hampshire is a plus.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
  • Assist with case management, including organizing and maintaining case files, scheduling, and coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, and other court proceedings, including conducting witness interviews and depositions.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy and client representation.
  • Stay informed about developments in the law and legal practice areas relevant to the firm's practice.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in civil and/or criminal litigation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong writing and legal research skills.
  • Admitted to practice in Vermont or eligible for admission.
  • Admission to practice in New Hampshire is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Vermont Bar or eligibility for admission.
