Job Overview:
A law firm based in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Associate Attorney to join its immigration law team. The firm specializes in family-based immigration, removal defense, and humanitarian relief. The ideal candidate will work closely with the managing attorney, with plenty of opportunities for client interaction and professional development. This role offers hands-on experience in a supportive, small-firm environment.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Appear before the State Court of California (Guardianships and Custody).
  • Represent clients in Immigration Court (EOIR) and with USCIS.
  • Advise clients on their legal rights and prepare them for hearings.
  • Review and manage the work of legal assistants.
  • Draft motions, briefs, and legal memos in support of cases.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and provide clear legal guidance.
  • Assist in developing case strategies and supporting clients through the immigration process.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills and client-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards case management.
  • Comfortable handling complex legal issues and interacting with diverse clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California State Bar License (Required).

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing skills, including drafting motions, briefs, and memos.
  • Ability to appear before courts and administrative bodies.
  • Experience in immigration law (preferred but not required).
  • Spanish language proficiency (preferred but not required).
