Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a highly motivated Labor & Employment Associate with 2-4 years of experience to join their Philadelphia office. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex employment litigation, as well as advising employers on compliance issues. The role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with Shareholders and clients across a variety of industries, gaining valuable experience in both litigation and counseling. Location:

  • Philadelphia, PA

Duties:

  • Assist in complex employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, accommodations, and other employment claims

  • Advise employers on compliance issues relating to leaves of absence, performance management, wage and hour compliance, and terminations

  • Draft personnel policies and employment agreements

  • Collaborate with Shareholders on various employment law matters

  • Regularly interact with clients from diverse industries

  • Take ownership of assigned work and contribute to team initiatives

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in employment-specific, defense-side roles

  • Strong background in complex employment litigation and counseling

  • Experience advising on compliance issues such as leaves of absence, performance management, wage and hour compliance, and terminations

  • Ability to draft personnel policies and employment agreements

  • Solid academic performance in law school

  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and analytical skills

  • Attention to detail and the initiative to take ownership of work and career

  • Must be in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Bar

  • Admission to New Jersey Bar is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania (NJ admission is a plus)

Skills:

  • Expertise in labor and employment law, specifically defense-side litigation

  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage complex cases and interact with clients

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
